Trevor Goring

After graduating in 1974 with a B.A. in Graphic Design from London’s St. Martin’s School of Art, Trevor started his career illustrating comics for 2000 AD, House of Hammer, and the Capt. Zep TV series for the BBC. He went on to establish Helicopter Studios, a large, full-service advertising art studio in Soho, London, with clients such as Saatchi & Saatchi. Relocating to Los Angeles in 1991, Trevor became a member of the film industry’s Art Directors Guild producing storyboards and concepts for over 80 films, including Independence Day, The Cell, Gattica, X-Men 2, Thor -The Dark World, and The Dark Tower. Other projects have included TV shows, advertising campaigns, and video games such as Stranglehold, Injustice 2 and Mortal Kombat 11.

 

Throughout his career Trevor has worked on comics, such as Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Outlaw Territory, What If?, Fallen Son (Marvel), Iron Siege (IDW), Torchwood, and Soviet Night Witches. Trevor also collaborated on Ring of Roses (Dark Horse/Image/Titan) and developed and illustrated the original graphic novel Waterloo Sunset (Image). He has also produced a series of sketchbooks as a member of a group of illustrators known as The BLvd.

Trevor is currently working on a book for a publication called Storyboards: The Unseen Art of Hollywood, compiled and designed by Goring on the history of film storyboards.
